Digital Tech Programme
Learn real tech skills, grow in a team environment, connect to your Taranaki roots, and work on a project that massively impacts our region. Please note that this programme is not NZQA-approved.
WHY IS IT DIFFERENT?
Our Pastoral Care and Wellness Programme is an integral part of our comprehensive IT programme, designed to support the overall development of our learners. At Learner Me, we believe in nurturing not just technical skills, but also personal and professional growth. We believe in the collective potential of our rangatahi (young people), encapsulated in the phrase "Me taea e tātau," meaning "We Can."
Through our structured 24-week programme, participants engage in activities that promote mental, physical, emotional well-being, and technology proficiency.
From sleep, hygiene, PT-led gym sessions and nutrition to communication skills, technology competencies, and cultural capability, we provide a holistic approach to learning.
During the post-programme period, we continue to support our learners with bi-weekly check-ins, face-to-face meetings, skill reinforcement workshops, community engagement, career support, and mental health counselling.
By blending career preparation, emotional support, cultural enrichment, physical health, and technology skill building, we empower our rangatahi to confidently say, "Me taea e tātau" — "We Can." Join us on this journey of growth and success.

GROW YOUR DIGITAL ROOTS...
Join a team of 15 Taranaki rangatahi (young people) studying digital tech and creative media at Learner Me, where you'll use your skills on real-world projects that make an impact.
You'll develop practical, transferable skills across areas like design, coding, and content creation, all while gaining experience in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Along the way, you'll grow your confidence, build your creative voice, and explore pathways into further training or work in the tech and creative industries.
WHO IS IT FOR?
15-24 year olds living in Taranaki and currently not in education, training or employment.
WHERE?
You’ll study at Learner Me’s New Plymouth campus at 127 Gill Street.
HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAMME?
6 months.

This programme is fully funded through He Poutama Rangatahi, a Ministry of Social Development initiative.
DO I NEED A QUALIFICATION TO ENTER?
No. We’ll bring you up to speed and adapt the programme to suit your strengths and interests.

Currently, there is a shortage of 5000 skilled people in the highly paying digital tech sector in New Zealand. This programme is about helping you get your career started!
